1) Presidents' Introductions
Margaret Daniels: President of Resort - I am been living on Hacienda Riquelme full time since May 2008 after taking early retirement. For the last ten years I was an IT Service Desk Manager and have experience of project planning and budget management. I am the widowed mother of two daughters and have come to Spain to start a new life - and allow them to live theirs. Working for the Community for a third year is my latest challenge! Let's work to making this the best year yet for Hacienda Riquelme!
Chris Hartley: President of Phase 1 - My first claim to fame is that I am the first resident of HR. It has been disputed several times ... but no-one has bettered it! In a previous life I was a teacher of Maths and Sport ... then worked for almost 25 years in IT ... 20 of them running my own company. Decided it was time to 'Live The Dream' and make my home here in HR ... in this wonderful place and community. My interests are football, golf, old comedies ... and karaoke. My second claim to fame is that when I go on holiday ... I go to watch Barnsley FC! Carole Eteson - President of Phase 2 - I moved to Hacienda Riquelme in February 2008 and love it. My hobbies are Country & Western Music, crafts, keeping fit and reading. I am married with two grown up children and one grandson. I am retired but during my working life I worked mostly in Information Technology, mainly with the end user. Later moving into training end users in the software packages, word processing, spreadsheets and graphics. ![]() Paul Atherton: President of Phase 3 - I am a retired Engineering & Maintenance Manager for the UK&Ireland Distribution and Pipelines division of a major oil company. I am married to Susan and we live in East Devon. We are now looking forward to spending more time at Hacienda Riquelme and helping Resortalia and the community president to develop this great golf resort. Rickard Thiel: President of Phase 4 - I am now a resident here at this beautiful resort. I hope I can live here until I am going(!). I have 3 children back in Sweden. I have a Swedish law examination. In the beginning of my career I used to work for the national board of tax. But the last 25 years a friend and I have had companies in the IT-field. The latest we started in 1989 and we were working to equip conference rooms with technical equipment. In December last year the staff took over it and they wanted me to stay. So I work from this beautiful place 4 hours per day through Skype telephone and the internet. The rest of the time, I am trying(!) to play golf and hopefully also to do a great for the community. And finally, I support Manchester United and Barcelona!!
